I know we have to wait until they show up and make that first pass, but I know one guy in this area that just bought a car, hopes to have it ready next year. Another car almost done for Victory. More rumors of possible racers. One Victory racer from the past told me at Gateway, he plans on coming back next year. Unfortunately, there are two Victory cars for sale that raced this year. Glad to have new and returning cars. Welcome to all of you !! As for me, the Dodge is ready and waiting, as for my wife, her Dodge is hoping for a future. Now that Winter is trying to settle in, and racing is nearly done, I thank all of my fellow Victory racing family for a great year, and look forward to next year !! Watch out Jerry !! It sounds like we might have another car to race against next year, our former great fearless leader himself !! Hope to see many of you at Clay and Rosie's Christmas Party !!

I just purchased another car. 66 Plymouth, putting my stepson Dustin in the seat! Possibly 8 cars from Owensville area will be running next year! 3 of them new racers! 68 dart, 65 Plymouth, 66 Plymouth.

Big welcome to the Owensville gang ! Gateway in May should be a big turn out, if we don't get rained out. My biggest fear is that Jerry will make his run for the championship next year and leave a collection of defeated Mopars in his wake. Mopars have to stick together.

No, not yet. I do know the tracks we attend, or want to attend, have to set schedule first.
I addition, if anyone has a suggestion for a race somewhere we all would entertain that idea. Also, a race somewhere on a non-points deal is a possibility as well.

Just a suggestion. Maybe it would be helpful to the Victory Board to have a map to look at with all the racing members located on that map to see where the largest concentrated locations are. I know more than one farm equipment dealer does that to set up deliveries, etc.. Just guessing, St. Louis and perhaps Chicago area. As we all well know, some guys are better set up for long distance travel. Really too bad Joliet can't be a points race. I see according to the NMCA boys, they will have a race at Gateway in May next year, later than our race usually is. Just saying. No good 1/4 mile tracks in Illinois between St. Louis and Joliet. Go East and there is Indy.

Maybe Havana heard it was a good track only 1/8 mile but a good location for everyone

Hello John, Havana is for sale, not sure if they will race next year. I've been there a few times, never raced on it. Sandy area. They have tried to combat that. The Nostalgia Inc. boys run there twice a year, so don't know how politics would go if we wanted to run there. We co-exist at Joliet for the Rt 66 Classic. Another 1/8 mile track in Illinois is at Charleston, called Coles County Dragway. I have raced there a lot. Smaller than Havana, short shut down, grass pits, rock on pit roads, a real country dragstrip. It, also is for sale. Some guys like US 41 Dragstrip at Morocco Indiana, 1/4 mile, I've never been there. There is a Dragstrip at Terre Haute Indiana, Crossroad Drag Strip, I think is the current name, 1/8 mile, interesting shut down, I raced there many years ago. Used to be a nice 1/4 mile Dragstrip, Motion Raceway, 9 miles from my house, ran there a lot. That was nice !! Closed since 1983, still there, not likely to ever re-open.

Just a thought I have not been there . That is a problem with track shutting down. The I -70 drag strip was supposed to open this year maybe next year it's going to be a long winter waiting to race again

Gateway's last test and tune will be November 2nd, if you have the need for speed. March will be a long wait for the next chance. I also heard Byron Dragway was for sale, Victory used to race there, until there was a problem. I forgot about I 57 Dragway at Benton Illinois, used to be an outlaw track, never been there. Drag racing used to be very popular back in the 1960's and early 70's, lots of Dragstrips everywhere. See you at Clay and Rosie's Party !
