from our rules
GNITION: Any battery powered ignition system permitted unless specified in this section. Programmable digital ignition boxes prohibited. The use of any programmable multipoint rev limiter or rate of acceleration, rpm limiter, either by themselves or integrated into the ignition system are prohibited. Traction control prohibited. NO laptops permitted in car at any time.
I would think that box falls under the rate of acceleration clause

And don't our rules also state "no computer terminals, readouts, ports or connections" or something to that effect? That box is EXACTLY what WE want to eliminate. Why the heck NHRA doesn't get off their duff and outlaw ALL programs in Pro I just don't know. I have said this many times before, you have no idea how consistent it can make your car. No idea. Research Gary Hairfield out in California and look at his record. I race against him and at the same track as he. It was no fun. DJ Detlof was another. These guys could program their corvettes as to how fast the cooling fan runs. Gary would dial 8.04, and hold that dial from the afternoon desert heat to the end of the night at 12AM and 60 degrees of cool air. Lets see you do that. Its not drag racing, its a forking computer game. As the article in ET drag racing figured out, its destroying car counts and drag racing. Read about it here, takes less than 5 minutes. etdragracing.com/magazine/2014-autumn/dead-on-why-is-bracket-racing-the-only-form-of-racing-without-rules

As Tom said, the 7531 is one often primary boxes we want to eliminate. Slew rate/ grid boxes , in the proper hands make repeating times a math exercise. No Hot Rods Allowed banned them in 2009 from all classes....
