Big thanks go out to the 30 Participants that braved the weather and attended the Gateway Race. We welcome the 7 New Members that came and look forward to more in the future. Although a valiant effort was put forth by the Management and Crew of Gateway Motorsports Park, Mother Nature won and we were unable to complete the Event. We made 2 Time Runs and got a lot of Socializing in. Even though it was damp most of the time, I think a good time was had by all. Thanks to our great Sponsors, we were able to give out some wonderful prizes. Carl Napier received the Englehart Performance Free Entry, Dave Ardoin took the Clay Kossuth & Sons $100 Star of the Race, Tom Truppo got the Muscle Motors $100 Low Qualifier, Damon Kuhn was our $100 Patriot Award winner, Dennis Spurgeon was the Jeff's Northshore Auto Body & Trailers $50 Low Qualifying Mopar and BJ Bax was the Iowa Speed & Supply $50 Low Qualifying GM, John Landwehr and Kenny Gresham each received $50 C/O the Dave Duell Classic, Ralph Dehne and Dennis Diepenbrock each got $50 C/O A&A Transmissions and Muscle Motors, Larry Pelts was the Kramer Automotive Top Gun $50 winner. Our big winner was Tom Hoffman, receiving a custom Engine Diaper from our new sponsor DRE Engine Diapers. Dennis Mothershed also gave two classic hard back car books away as door prizes. Thank you to all that made this possible. Our next race is at Eddyville Raceway on June 12-13. I have put in an order for sunshine and expect a large turn out, see you there! Chris

By the way, for the first time ever we have a 30 way tie for first place in the Victory NSS Points! Everyone got the 20 points for passing Tech. The good news for those of you that didn't make it to Gateway, you are only two rounds behind. Better tune them up for Eddyville, we have even more prizes to give out there. See you there! Chris

Thanks for entertaining us this weekend Fugly, I look forward to blowing your doors off at Eddyville....... As if the Victory Series isn't reason enough to go to Eddyville, you get to see The Flying Butcher in John Troxel's F/C vs. Fugly in Mike Kurz's F/C. I think we will call it "Clash of the Titans" or maybe "Two Old Guys and a Dream" . You don't want to miss this, BE THERE! The Flying Butcher

All I know is I'm tied for 2nd in points. Regarding Bowling Green this weekend...sounds like another weather challenge. Good Luck to the Victory guys. My hopes for the victor. The winner will be A. a Victory racer B. a GM product C. bein's the 3 409 59's are parked for the week, I hope a 09 wins(but I don't know if there'll be 1 there) D. If not 409 car, I personally hope one of the slowest cars wins.
the "other" Dennis

Susan and I enjoyed the weekend, even if it was too wet to race. Everyone made us feel at home and the cars were outstanding. Special thanks to our "pit" friends: Steve S., Tom G., Tom H., and Randy V.. It was neat meeting the carb master--Damon K.
Looking forward to Eddyville and dry, warm weather.
