I have had people ask about Engine Diapers for this year. I have made the appropriate calls and here is the scoop. No Victory NSS Cars will be mandated to have an Engine Diaper or Belly Pan at any Series Points Race for this year. As I have told you in the past though, the day is coming!!!!! You should be looking into them now. There are many options and possibilities on the market now. Do your homework and start making plans for the future. Although some cars have issues with fit, they can be made to work. They do make sense and are the future of Drag Racing. I will be surprised if they are not mandated for next year. While we are talking safety, you all know that I have been pushing everyone [no matter your ET] to have a Trans. Blanket or Shield. This year, I want every T-Flite equipped Mopar to have one and I highly recommend it on all other models. We have seen what can happen and I do not want to see anyone hurt. Lets get the cars on jackstands and check them over. Check all suspension pieces, nuts, bolts and welds. Replace all wear items and be proactive on safety! And PLEASE check dates on Belts, Chassis Certs and Licenses!!!!!!!!! You don't want the Old Fat Inspector Guy[AKA Blowfish] to blow a gasket when he Techs you...... We all want to have fun racing but we must do it safely. It is your responsibility to make sure that you and your car meet all Tech Requirements at our events. Remember, all participants must meet all NHRA Tech Requirements at Victory NSS Points Races no matter where the Venue is. If you have any questions, consult your NHRA Rules or contact me. Lets get them ready boys and girls, its almost Racing Season! Chris Schneider Victory NSS Series Director and Tech Inspector 573-291-0999 victorynss@yahoo.com

I wouldn't run a Toque Flight without an after market front drum. I built the trans for my car ( and the spare ) There are " Trans Builders " that say you don't need one if you have a bolt in over-running clutch ( Sprag ) THEY ARE WRONG!!! If you talk to any of the "Major" trans builders, they are recommended. While they are expensive, they are cheap insurance. Both my trans. have aluminum billets , and the trans fluid does get to look nasty, I understand there is an alum. drum with a steel ring that is safe, keeps the fluid cleaner, and doesn't require the bands to be adjusted as often as the full alum.. I believe A&A makes it. The old stock drums are just that, old, and are a "Sintered " metal. When I was getting ready to do my Trans., I spent a lot of time researching , looking , reading and talking to experts, after seeing a couple explosions. Big eye opener. As a minimum, Run an after market front drum, and a bolt in Overrun clutch ( Sprag ) , not just new springs and rollers ,and a shield or blanket. I prefer the shield due to heat retention. Rant over.
