My '67 Belvedere is my bracket car, runs Sportsman at 12.00/7.50 max E.T. Car has a full interior with a bench front seat, I've had it reupholstered in vinyl as the cloth/vinyl was impossible to match at the time. With full passenger car seat cushioning the car throws the driver back into the seat pretty good, I keep the seat a bit forward to make sure my foot doesn't come up from the floor and hand is behind the shifter to make sure it doesn't get pulled into second at launch either. I'm contemplating replacing the bench with buckets (at least one) and looking down the road to possibly racing in NSS am wanting to know what you have put in your cars. Not adverse to A-100 van seats, have thought of going to the junkyards to get buckets with less give in the backs, or maybe a true racing seat although I like the more original look the car currently has.
It must be a challenge to make original seats work with a pushbutton transmission, a floor mounted Hurst Quarterstick has caused me to adapt as it is. What're common seat choices here?

The bench seat can remain or replaced with 2 buckets. A-100 van seats or aftermarket race seats are accepted. Both seats require upholstery... " Interior must be fully upholstered ", please see our rules for further information. Thanks for your interest in our group.

Another problem you can develop is with no seat support for the driver, you pull on the steering wheel. This WILL pull that shaft out of there given enough time. So, be carful there. If you ever put in a bar, you should have a seat support cross bar in there to help in this. Good luck, hope to see you sometime in the future.

Thanks guys, I've got a bar in the car as a look ahead to faster days. I'm looking for experiences from racers, what they're using in their cars, but if that intrudes into the space of trade secrets I'll understand. I'm looking at Procar seats, something more purpose-built for racing. I was told my car jumped left at launch and then corrected, I couldn't say I was intentionally putting a correction in but got to thinking I was as I might be turning the wheel left at launch as driving is done with only my left hand on the wheel at 9:00. Figured it's pulling down and hadn't even thought of also pulling back on it, all the more reason to solidify the seating. I raced once at Eddyville a few years ago when NSS cars were running, have also gone for IHRA division finals the past couple years. They will be WDRA this year, should hold division finals again, but I hope to make it out for a NSS race in 2023 as well to check out the cars.
