So here's a interesting question one of our members as put out there. The question was answered however I think we have time to kick this around a little and just see what other members think. The question is this: Can somebody out there tell me exactly what Super Stock is Victory trying to represent ? Are we trying to run cars as the factories built them to compete with each other in Super Stock or are we trying to copy NHRA Super Stock as it was run up until 1969. I think we represent a little of both. We do have some cars that really look pretty close to what they did back in the early 60,s. Matt Mothershed's car is one that comes to mind immediately. We have other cars that represent something that looks a lot more like nhra super stock that ran say 69- 70 . So I think we have a cross over between the two. We also have quite a few that look like shall we say bracket cars. This is a subject that's been kicked around for years and I can already hear a loud oh don't tell me were gonna talk about this again. No I'm not. That's not why I'm bringing this up. Quite frankly I have no reason what so ever to bring it up other than the fact that I'm bored and have nothing else to do. I can say that , and this is something that has been mentioned not that long ago about other nostalgia organizations that have fallen by the wayside and are no longer running. With that said the first that comes to mind is the 421 All Stars from the eastern part of the country. Anyone ever look at those cars? Truly a different look than what we have. How bout the Mid West Nostalgia group? Well I gotta go I just found something to do.

Well Bill, I think all the guidelines we go by depends on who was setting there at the table when the Victory baby was born and slapped on the behind, and what they were running. We seem to be ruled by opinions and not just black and white rules. I also was told that anyone now wanting to run with Victory has to qualify by making runs in another bracket, and get inspected, plus even after this, you can't run with Victory that weekend. I really hope this rumor is a bunch of bull, since I don't see how anybody could come up with an idea like that. Let's face it boys and girls, we don't have many first time racers coming into Victory, most of us have gray in our hair and have spent much of life at full throttle on a drag strip. I believe most of us know what we are doing. I don't care for the high school attitude some have, I've been racing Victory for a few years longer than you, so your opinion doesn't count.

Now hold on there Capt. George I beg to differ sir, I've been with Victory since 2016, Cordorva was our first outing and race with Victory. Now at that time the event director and a few members looked our car over to see if the car fell within the guidelines put forth by Victory. We passed mustard and were allowed to race that weekend . Now what's this gibberish about you talk of? Now wait , before you answer is this something for the new FX class? I agree with you whole heartily that before we came to Victory a lot of us had at least learners permit time behind the wheel. Russ and Damon probably had a little more than some of us so I'm told. Calling JAY , what do you know about this ? Has anyone heard about this? It's new to me.

Hi Bill, I have no idea what George is talking about. ( Somebody starting rumors ?) As for his other comments, Victory rules are generally based on the NSCA rules ( which were the same as NMCA , but have since changed ). Time racing VS. time running with specific NSS Organizations are two completely different things. The F/X ( faster than 9:00 ) deal is "Heads up ", NOT Index racing if that is where the confusion is coming from. The other possible rule changes ( To Be Voted on ) which are part of the Exhibition deal was being done to see if there was any interest and The fact that there will be only a few , probably only 2 or 3 Altered wheel base cars this year. I believe some people ( not necessarily our members ) don't understand what they have read , then jumped to inaccurate conclusions and are starting rumors.
Hope this clears things up.

I can be reached at carsplymouth@hotmail.com when there is any questions about rules or like the above rumor, which is quite a duesy. Speaking of duesy, I went to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg musem this past weekend. This isn't a great picture, but its a 1932 Cord which is undoubtedly the most beautiful car I will ever see. Look at how long that hood is! Style, man, real style when cars were art. Attachments:

Thank you leaders for dispelling that rumor ( about Victory qualifying with a new car), I was told that in a phone conversation, first I had heard about it, and thought it quite insane.

I look forward to seeing everyone at St. Louis for the Victory Season Opener. I will be there driving the Brutus F/C. Maybe people should spend more time getting their cars ready for an exciting year of Victory NSS Racing instead of trying to find things wrong with this great Group of Racers. Perhaps Friday night, you all can get me drunk and I can speak my mind on the past, present and future of Victory since I do not have to be as "Politically Correct" now that I am retired. But then again, who cares what I think...... See you there! Chris [AKA Blowfish, Washed up Series Director & Wanna-be F/C Driver]
