So going to try a new cam and having degreed more than a couple I get set up, only to get some weird numbers. Check setup and go again, same deal, really weird numbers. So, maybe I forgot something, so I check the instructions with the cam. Find Top dead center (TDC) yeah yeah, got that. got the indicators all set up and then I see its an asymmetrical lobe? Ok, so now pay attention: find the first 50 thousands lift, degrees before TDC. Find the last 50 thousands lift degrees after Bottom dead center. Pay attention now, take those two numbers and add them, then add 180, then divide by 2. Then take that number and subtract the degrees before TDC. That is your centerline. Then I got to hit the 15 different key ways sprocket about 7 different ways before we get it right. Ok, so after 3 hours got it. Have a great day. Attachments:

Here is the Hoffman/Morgan tool for changing springs. Does both at the same time. With the new cam I checked piston to valve clearance to make sure I didn't have a problem.

Well, unfortunately that cam just didn't work out with my combination, so the other cam is on its way back in place. I won't be the last racer to put a "better" cam in and have the car slow down. Whatever, had to try.
