ok as long as we're in a bitchin mood , i'll throw in my two cents, as far as being guests goes , anyone with a nostalgia car that fits nmca rules can race in a nmca race, the only thing with this weekend is they're waving the fact that you don't have to join nmca to race , I raced nmca for years an was a member (I even have a top ten jacket),(I'd still be racing nmca but for the date conflicts with our races which I'm loyal to) they're doing it to get more car count, as far as the extra race goes it's ok but I'm not too keen on the us vs them thing, I think it should have been talked about with the members a little first. I'm done now, chillin down.

You will not see Griz or I at a Victory Race this year. We might go to a few NMCA races. But I support my boss and friends on these magical rule changes.
Rules and changes to rules is what causes people to get frustrated. Cheating would be another one. A series must have a great tech program that provides assurance to the racers that they are all on a level playing field.
While I am on my soap box here one thing that makes me laugh is the periodic comment "period correct".....really?....Very little on our engines are period correct..maybe the blocks on some.
it would be nice to have a national NSS rules. Then all this BS would be a mute point...

Everybody has a point here. May I suggest if you want a rule or change that you propose it and we vote on it. Its pretty easy. I can see how the 409 guys have some trouble. I did a search on Craigslist for a 600 mile radius from me and there wasn't one listing for a 409 engine, block or semi complete. I would guess the Ford FE guys would be in about the same shoes. I do think though, that the 348/409 is one of the most remarkable looking engines there ever was, and would kinda hate to see a big block in there, but, better than nothing. We can make rule changes gang, just gotta speak up. Got the car out of the trailer for some clean up work. Those front wheels look good in the picture, but they are real beaters up close.

First off, I'd like to take this time to say hello to everyone. It's been a long winter and Rosie & I are really looking forward to this race season. Now to the subject at hand. I don't comment on this board, but I do monitor what's being said and I have really been surprised at some of the topics of discussion and the direction some have taken on said discussion. We've been involved, as many of you have with various groups over the years and they all had one thing in common, after the first couple of years the complaining starts and the group ends up being divided and eventually ends off becoming irrelevant. In the Victory series we have the most democratic organization I've ever belonged to. The rules have been voted on and are pretty much in line with NMCA with the 1/4 second indexes and the 460 motor being the main exception. At EVERY drivers meeting, everyone has the opportunity to bring up any topic for discussion and is encouraged to do so. As far as individuals cheating, there is a lot going on behind the scenes to ensure this doesn't happen and the cars are checked on more than you think. Also there is always several people around the starting line observing, furthermore the caliber of racers we have in our organization wouldn't resort to that. Just my opinion. I've been blathering enough; so there's hoping everyone has a great racing season! See you at the track! Clay

The way I understood the NMCA yearly dues are waived for this event and we will be racing for money only in their event. And the the match race is a separate race integrated into the festivities.

Because NMCA does have a formal tech inspection it would cause a lot of confusion to have exceptions.
My understanding was that it is a NMCA race therefor you would need to be a member of the NMCA, and have a legit registered NMCA car number and pay the normal entry fee at a NMCA race.
The exhibition if you want to call it that would be for the top 2015 point racers from Victory and the highest victory qualifier for the actual NMCA race.
I could be wrong...has happen a few times unless you talk to my Dad who says I am like Mom...wrong 99% of the time ...

I will try to clear up some things about the All Star Race at Indy. This is an NMCA Points Race. Membership for NSS Cars is being waived at this Event like it is at the Dave Duell Classic. This Race will be run just like the DDC with the exception of the All Star Clash on Sat. Night. All NSS Racers will make Qualifying Runs on Friday and Sat Morning. Sat Afternoon, ALL NSS Cars will participate in Class Run-Offs. Sat Evening, the Top 5 in 2015 Points in NMCA and Victory NSS along with the Top 3 Qualifying Cars at this Event from Victory and NMCA will compete in the All Star Race. There is a $1,500 purse put up by Indy Cylinder Head for this 16 Car Field. On Sunday, ALL NSS Cars will compete in the normal NSS Race. There is no extra charge for the Class Run-Offs or the All Star Race. There will be added Prizes for these Races as well as a lot of recognition. This is an NMCA Race, so all cars and Drivers must meet NMCA Rules. This will be a very fun and exciting Event. It is like the National League VS the American League in Baseball. This will be a huge Event and will go a long ways in giving NSS Racing a lot of recognition and exposure. This can become a legendary Race for NSS Cars and I appreciate the hard work of Doug Duell, Rollie Miller, Russ Flagle and Dennis Mothershed in making this possible. Make plans now, this will be awesome! Feel free to call with any questions, see you there. Chris 573-291-0999

After research, if truck and trailer weigh over 10K, you are subject to DOT rules. If you are over 26K, you need a CDL. I THINK I am DOT compliant now, but I really don't know. This 10K weight has nothing to do with whether you are commercial or not (as I understand it). I am registered as hauling my own property and not ever for pay. Tom Hoffman drag racing, eh? My tax person says I should run this drag racing as a business to help my taxes. She said that as she saw I really didn't make any money last year ha ha ha but I had plenty of expenses. When I was talking to the DOT guy taking my info, I said that there really isn't any racers making money. He said, doesn't matter, still got to follow the rules. I'll tell you what I know when I see you, but this is what these guys are getting racers on when they are stopped. I might have to cross a scale by then and I would expect to get inspected then? ? Don't know.
