Proposed rule changes to be submitted prior to our race at St. louis. This is needed so everyone can read prior to vote. Rules at this point so far, and that is:
1. No rules changed from present, for two years.
2. Intake Manifold. Any cast commercially available intake manifold that fits, with carburetors, under the closed hood of the car.
3. Carburetor. Any Edelbrock, AFB, AVS, or Holly style carburetor allowed, any make of car. Holley based carburetor 4150 style with a maximum 1.750 throttle blade. (NO Dominators). Carburetor must have commercially available cast main body. Billet Base Plate and metering blocks are permitted.
4. Carburetor. Single 4 barrel carburetor allowed, any make of car.
To clarify on this, we can vote in one of these new rules. We can also vote in rule 1, no further changes for two years. Both would be in effect for 2024 season.
If you have a proposal, get to director or preferred, to rules members Tom Hoffman, Clay Kossuth, or Jim Hagenhoff.

Use NMCA rules. If a independant NSS is run, or they include NSS, they use NMCA rules. Eau Clare Classic, Great Lakes Stock Super Stock, NSS Bash, Buckeye Stock/Super Stock, some off the orgs i have run with. Many Victory members run NMCA events, but some NMCA can,t run Victory, this hurts car count for Victory. Might increase sponsor pool. What is the downside off this proposal? Its just less confusing to potential members, track owners, sponsors, potential new NSS builders. Also NMCA does yearly rules proposals.

This is coming from me, Tom Hoffman, but many people feel the same. So far, in the history of NSS racing, changing the rules has NEVER brought more cars. Perfect example is the NMCA changing rules this year. Not one more car has showed up, and they also lost some. This comes up in NSS racing history all the time, and it always comes down to this same point, change rules. But, since we've had more car counts than any other NSS group, I think its not a good idea.
Here is the 3 kinds of racers I see: 1. Racers that built their cars to a very specific set of NSS rules. 2. Racers that modified their cars to a very specific set of NSS rules. 3. Racers that complain the rules don't fit their cars.
Now, a plus, if you build a car to Victory Rules, you can race NSS anywhere. I don't mean to offend anyone, I really don't want to do that. We are having fun at the present, I hope we all can have fun in the future.
