We had a little fun with this a while back. I was trying to think what would be a good name for Jerry's car if he would put a name on it, how about the "Iowa Iceman", knowing that when the lights come down, how that killer instinct comes natural to Jerry, and that Blue gill Bowtie is almost an ice blue, sort of. Tom H., that was a very interesting name you picked for your's, and Dick picking "Overspray". Warm enough that I had mine running and moving yesterday. Too bad some huge investor doesn't build an indoor dragstrip.

Mine would be "Redioactive" if I were to put a name to it. Iowa Ice Man is great!
There is some pictures of a Chicago parking ramp or the like where they had some 1/8 mile or so action. As it is described, you had a door to go through past the finish line. Might be sketchy to say the least. These were stock cars so probably 75-80 would be max at the end. Still, way more than enough to do you harm.

If the video was from the early '60's that was probably at the International Ampitheatre on the south side , it was a weekly thing there during the winter for two or three years. My late ex-in brother-in-law told me about it 40 years ago, thought he was pullin' my leg until I saw some old video ( 8 mm home movies )and it was true! Went there for car shows and the circus in the 70's , it closed I believe in the late 70's and was torn down.

Google image search has a bunch of pictures from the 62-64 Indoor Drags. Arnie Beswick raced there, have to ask him about it. One picture of a car that hit a concrete pillar. I read somebody priced doing a new indoor facility to drag race and it was 2 billion. Maybe Jerry is in Europe getting that pocket money out to build one. Probably will build it in the shape of a bowtie. Anybody know if maybe Clay raced the Indoor Drags ?

Polarabear has a good idea, but I don’t think Morton makes that long of pole building! And I hate to withdraw such small amounts from my European accounts. The best American car I have seen here is a 1980 Chevy Citation. Most of them have disappeared from the US. Oh, a couple of 80’s Mopar K cars are still alive and looking as stealth as most Mopar due, lol. Going to the BMW museum tomorrow. Maybe they will have replacement Heemi parts and plaid Bermuda shorts for you guys. Take care eveyone.

I was there at least once when Arnie was racing!! It was a wild scene and scary. At the end of the race you had to exit through a double door opening at the shut down!! Unreall, but cool!!
