On the way home from my sister's funeral I learned that mine and Donnie Bruemmer's race car engine builder, Mike Bogina, passed away suddenly the evening before (Thursday, Feb. 13th). He was only 58 years old. What a shocker! We must all remember you never know what is around the corner for any of us. Enjoy life!!! Here is the on-line obituary.
MICHAEL EUGENE BOGINA 1955 - 2014 --- Michael Eugene Bogina, 58, of Olathe, Kan., passed away February 13, 2014, at his residence. Michael was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Olathe to August and Velma Bogina. He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria, father, August Bogina Jr., son, Michael Bogina, daughter, Ashleigh Bogina, sister, Kathy Bogina, brothers; Augie and Mark Bogina. He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma. A visitation has been scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Monday Feb. 17, at The Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, KS 66203. Sorry to hear the news. I know that he was more than an engine builder to you and Don, but a friend as well. Mike was very well known and respected in the Mopar and Racing community. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bogina Family as well as to Jim and Don for their loss. You said it right Jim, live life to the fullest, every day you get is a gift! Chris.

Yup, you never know when your ticket will expire. I was in the middle of a 340 TA engine build for a buddy of mine when he had a massive heart attack. He had lost his wife a couple of years ago and was just starting to come back to somewhat normal, then retired and started enjoying life again. His son picked everything up and that's the last I've heard of that.
