Peace on Earth
Good day in our Lord!
Peace on earth. Not since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden, until Jesus’s birth, have men known peace.
Luke 2:1In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.
Joseph and Mary would be called to leave there home, travel to the city of their lineage, the city of David which is called Bethlehem.
Mary with child braved the trip with Joseph.
Luke2: 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
The long awaited birth of the promised Messiah. Born not in a palace, not even an inn, the baby Lord Jesus would deliver in the poverty of a stable to bring peace to the lowly from heaven so high.
Appearing to the lowly shepherds tending the very sheep used for the sin sacrifice of the people the angel appeared…
10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
The long awaited peace of the Deliverer.
Luke 2:13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
May you know in your heart the love of God through His Son Jesus Christ and may you share this love with all you meet. The everlasting prince of peace, not of man, but a gift from God.
Peace on earth and good will to men.
Merry Christmas and God bless,
