Out with the old and in with the new. We hear it every year and visualize it through the image of the old man and new baby. In just 365 days (or 366 for 2016) we are ready to throw out and welcome the new.
I’m not too sure that works for me anymore… the older I get, the less I like change and throwing anything out. And starting all over again is less and less attractive. Anyone else?
Take my latest project, the 67 Dart, it did not take long for the “new” to wear off and the “old” to start to set in. You know the scenario…they are never as good as you had hoped and the “new” made in xxxxx parts are a far cry from the original ones made in the USA. God bless the men and women making, saving and reselling good old American parts!
But I’m preaching to the choir here and God bless you all for keeping the “old” alive and well!
Scripture reminds us to be “like children” having a pure and trusting faith in Christ.
1 Peter 2: 2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
I hope the holiday season has left you wanting for more, not as the world wants, but a longing to know more of the love God has for us. The goal is not to start over every year, but to grow up.
If you are into New Year resolutions, the following scripture would cover mine,
1 Peter 2: 1Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
May God continue to show mercy, grace, and love on us as we enter this New Year.
Thank you for allowing Team Racers for Christ to serve the great people that are Victory NSS!
It is an honor and a privilege,
