I think this is going to be a great race! The Free Spectator Admission is a very cool thing for the track to do and should bring a good crowd. It will be good to have the American Muscle back at the track, Jim says it is ready to rock! The camera does love his car.

The Pit Gates will be open until 10:00 pm on Friday night. Gates open at Noon on Saturday [Don't be late]. Our First Qualifier is scheduled for 2:00 on Saturday. Gates open at 8:00 am on Sunday. We will have a Drivers Meeting at 9:30 am on Sunday. There will be no Qualifying runs for Race #2 on Sunday, Eliminations start at 11:00 am on Sunday. I plan to bring potato salad, but there's a chance I won't be there for meal...depend on the timing of my other job...semi-pro gambler. Just a heads-up. Hopefully everyone needing one already has room. This weekend is Bix run & the Ragbrai bike ride terminates in Quad Cities on weekend, so it's gonna be a little nuts in town. Shudn't affect Cordova much. BTW, anyone expecting to go anywhere, we are in our "other" season besides winter in Iowa..."Construction"...so expect delays to get ANTWHERE.
See y'all on Fri

Illinois State animal is ..... The Construction Horse. 88 is Under Construction. The weather forecasts do contain a chance of rain, But it's the lowest chance of any race weekend yet. Trailer is loaded, truck is cleaned up, and Kathi is making some kind of peach something for Friday night. See you there Friday afternoon.

The Chevelle is loaded and leaving tomorrow around 11:00am. We found a motel room in Clinton, about 26 miles north of Cordova, but at least it will be quiet and free of bicycles! The last time I raced at Cordova was in 1978, so looking forward to being there again. A great track with a lot of history. Looking forward to seeing all the Victory NSS guys and cars.
