I doubt very much if I'll even get an acknowledgement regarding the question but here goes , has anyone ever tried running Pie Crust rear tires on their current car?

Never tried them, have been to several nostalgia events, like the meltdown drags where a lot of gassers run those tires. I did not keep good track, but from my memory most of the cars running them were in the 11.50 or slower range. I believe the compound is soft, but the sidewall are very stiff, might be similar to a drag radial?

Sometimes they run a "Pie crust" class to replicate the old days. Sometimes called the Pie Eating contest or race at Meldown, Glory Days at Byron, Fall Out at Rock Falls Wi.

Don't know anything about those tires but from the above responses , guess Pie crust tires would be similiar to I think the old Caslar brand tires. Is Coker tire possibly manufacturing them, have not looked on the web in regard to who has Pie crust tires?

Talked to a guy who has attended the Meltdown Drags. His response was that the pie crust tires very heavy,more expensive that normal slicks, were recap tires. Some make them work on gassers fairly well but probably would be faster with normal slicks. Don't think I would run them except in exhibition,not for our NSS type of racing as I see it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for the feed back guys. The reason I was asking is this, last race in Cordova this year we were talking with someone ( I forgot his name ) who is running a Ferris Motors tribute car. 65 Ply etc. as the conversation went on he said he ran a set of pie crust tires with some success. Decent .et, and 60 ft times. So I wanted to see if anyone else has any stories about these tires. I believe Coker does sell them but not cheep. What is anymore. ttyl
