Gang, Justin Kruse from Cedar Falls raceway says everything is on track and we will be racing their NIGHT OF FIRE.
We have been here before and its always neat to race under the lights, and in front of a crowd! Set the date, make plans, you gotta be there.
We have this opportunity to race when we have already lost two of our races. Don't let this be next winter's regret when you tell your self "ya, should have gone, but didn't).
Get ready now, don't be surprised. Tune the car, change plugs now, and stand by. It will come fast. See you there.

I w I wonder if Jerry and Susie will show. They have to drive like 20 miles. I know he will have to change intakes from last week. So, what does a set of intake gaskets cost for a chevy?

Tom, actually, we are 34 miles from CFR. Hardly gets the truck warmer up.
No plan on changing the intake manifold and here is why. The only other dual quad intake manifold for big block Chevy’s is dual plane and it causes lean cylinders at no. 1,4,and 7 in my engine at the rpm’s it turns. I don’t want to burn up my engine as there is too much invested in it. If I can’t race with it, I will race elsewhere or in another class, but I am not chancing injury to the engine. The intake manifold on the engine is not an IR (Independent Runner) intake. It is an open plenum and has a common plenum for all the cylinders much like the Mopar mod man intake. I see no problem with using it for Victory races.

Jerry you can't leave Victory !! If we ever have a Victory race that's not a thousand miles from here, I want a re match. The Polara Bear doesn't care what intake you have, it will be Blue Gill on the BBQ. Pontiac racers have the same intake problem. Us Southern Victory Racers would like to see some closer action. Maybe when Gateway quits tripping over it's technology halo.

The intake manifold on the engine is not an IR (Independent Runner) intake. It is an open plenum and has a common plenum for all the cylinders much like the Mopar mod man intake. I see no problem with using it for Victory races. How about the OFFY 360 intake? It is not a dual plane intake, in the normal sense, cut a window in the divider and a couple 1 inch spacers, and I see no reason why you should have any issues. www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Offenhauser-Chevy-Chevrolet-396-427-BBC-High-Rise-Oval-dual-quad-intake/184071642317?epid=1222128704&hash=item2adb865ccd:g:DQUAAOSwPCVX7uME
from summit: Offenhauser's dual quad high-rise manifolds take the best of the company's 360 degree Equa-Flow technology and double it. Each 4-barrel sits on top of its own split plenum, which feeds straight, tapered runners that dive directly from the plenum to the intake ports. This results in extremely even, efficient cylinder filling, which eliminates flat spots and produces hefty power bands, starting as low as 1,800 rpm and running as high as 8,800 rpm. Edelbrock Performer series and Carter AFB carburetors are recommended.
And again, just buy a decent single plane intake you like and build a top for it. I have less than $400.00 in my intake and the cylinder temps are within 50 degrees on all the cylinders.

11 Days to go. Get your stuff ready and the tow vehicle packed. Don't delay. Air up the tires, and get some gas. Lets go. Don't regret not going next winter. Lets race while we can!
It’s 106 miles to Cedarfalls, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark and we’re wearing sunglasses. Jake Blues: Hit it!

how about a schedule for next weekend so we can plan when to leave etc. Ok, need to get on that pronto! OK, here is what I got. Friday, gates open at 12 noon. Sat, pit entrance 8AM. Friday night quals about 6PM. We will be shooting for two quals on Saturday, that is always better than 1. But that detail will have to be determined on site. If anything changes, I'll tell ya here.

Well, now its seven days. Yeah, 7 days away. I enjoy the talk sessions as much as the race, and this will be no different. Hope its a little cooler on Friday than it was last year. Wow, I got trapped in my Tee shirt it was so sticky.
But, we'll be there, and looking forward to it all.
