Ok, we have some non points fun races for the group this coming year. We have MOKAN in April, maybe somebody can put a date on that for me, and also any details known.
Now also, Dick Monaco has got us invited to Cordova on May 23 for the GM, FORD, MOPAR nationals. Free entry, race and details to follow. This is a busy race time of the year for us and everybody, and this event will allow us to keep our tune up tuned up! It will be a Saturday race, and as I said we will find out more details next year.
As we get closer we will have a role call and see how this works out, but would be nice to have a field there.
Carry on, stay warm, and wait. Wait to race.
April 24-25 MoKan
Cordova May 23
Indy Dave Duell Classic with Class Race, Victory NSS shoot out with NMCA, and then the NMCA race to finish out the week end.
24-25-26-27 September

I know it's my problem for living where I do, but every time I load my car to race it's a 5-6 plus hour drive to get to the track for a nostalgia race. A fun race doesn't seem to be a draw for me. any input from the gang?, anyone else feel the same way? is it hard to find a track to let us have a race? I don't know how it works, but do we always have to be part of a big show? it wasn't like that not so many years ago. is it a cost factor for the track? just wondering.

I am all for having an actual race at any fun race. It makes it more fun and may sharpen us up for actual races. I am not sure of the details yet, but I am all for putting up a purse of some kind if we get in for free. Gamblers race or what ever.
As far as a place to race, we like to race in front of a crowd, if we can. There was a possibility to race with a bunch of street cars, but that doesn't seem to be a good mix for us, I wasn't sure, and it fell apart anyway. Then, where can we set up a race where our gang will travel to.
As we race next year, I want to discuss places and possibilities with the gang next year and get a feel about where and when. I am open to all suggestions. I should say, "we" are open to suggestions.

I would think that we could privately make the fun races a gamblers race within our group? Don’t see where the problem would be? Just thinking ? Any other thoughts out there?

As long as you have 2 cars, you can win or lose. Most tracks have test and tunes in March/April, don't know if each track owner/manager could be talked into having a Gambler's for Victory cars if the track got a cut. All they would have to do is dial in the index for each pair. You could conceivably get a bunch of Victory cars to arrange to meet at their closest track for a little competition, example St.Louis, Joliet, Cordova, Indy, Cedar Falls, Eddyville, Byron, Rock Falls, and there are others. Just depends on how cooperative the track might be. Like Russ says, some guys aren't close to a scheduled race. Also, for some guys that go out the first round, you usually only get 4 runs per race as it usually is. My 2 cents worth.

The Cordova race on May 23rd is a must attend event!!! We are committed to have at least 12-16 cars that day and i do need a fairly large commitment please!! I know we are going back to back and that is not the best thing, but we can do it because we are Victory NSS!!!Look at your calendar and plan accordingly! This is a big deal for Cordova and the manufacturer’s brands event as well as Victory NSS!! Thanks you guys very much !! There is no entry fee for this event of course and we will be making exhibition runs, however we can have competition between ourselves if we want to!!
