How is the new Victory panel doing? did you have any meetings yet to discuss the new season? Did Chris turn over all his contact info for the tracks? Just wondering, haven't seen any updates on here. Some of the guys need to plan for next year with work schedules an such. If you need input from the victory members you should post it on here so we can reply.
thanks.

Things are pretty much in the panels control. We are tentatively having a huddle at the Party 7 December. I really really wish I could tell you something on the schedule, but I can't.
St. Louis has been our final race but that probably won't happen. The attendance there just won't support it, but according to Chris it is a rather small possibility. As such, we have no place to race our final race at. If you have suggestions I am happy to entertain them. Two possibilities, though not much more than guesses at this point, would be going to Cedar falls for the last race at their Mopar event. Or, Byron for the wheelie contest? But, NOBODY has returned contacts at this point. In addition, I would like to return to Cedar falls for July and their night of fire, but as I said, no contact yet. But, this has been the standard for tracks as Chris has mentioned before.
So, that is where that is. Got suggestions, please do, we are all in this together.

When we go to the race tracks for that year, why don't we talk to the track, and get it set up for next year?

One option, know any body that wants to invest in a drag strip ? Central Illinois Dragway at Havana IL is for sale. 1/8th mile. The Nostalgia Inc. boys used to have an event there twice a year, if it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for us. If one of our sponsors/contacts would buy it, we could have several events there.

Until tracks set their schedule, they don't want any commitments. And some tracks set their Schedule after other tracks set theirs. This is the problem.

I hope not, but if we can't have the Final points race at Gateway, why not move it to Cordova at the World Series, if we do that race. That would only be 2 or 3 weeks earlier. I don't think very many would want to have our Final points race at Indy during the NMCA event.

The Schedule is the toughest thing to set up for our series. As Tom said, it is being worked on. Chris has still been involved as some tracks have contacted him instead of Tom or other Directors.( This has not been dumped on Tom alone ) What complicates matters is the Victory series is an " Add on " to a tracks events, we are not the promoter ( this would be out of the question for a multitude of reasons ). We are trying to do a race a month, not have back to back races or shorten the season. We don't want to put out information that could change, this only causes confusion and hard feelings. Sponsors have been contacted regarding next season, Be assured, the Directors are working on all the components it takes to set up the series. There will be an announcement in Dec. as to Dues structure for next season. We will keep everyone updated when settled. The first year will be the hardest, however, the schedule problems never seem to get any better.

Might I suggest getting in touch with Chris Payne owner of the old KCIR! He is planning on having the new track up and running some time in early summer! he could possibly open to having The Victory group there for a headline race group! The finals would late enough that the track would be pretty well established by Sept. or early Oct. The new track is located in Odessa Mo.
Latest update for the new track Chris has gotten all the permits now and is going to start laying down the concrete in May! So it should be available for racing in Sept. I realize it'll be a little hike for you northerners! But it might help drawing some more new racers to the group!

Thanks for the input, that has been mentioned along with tracks in Wisc., Michigan and Ohio. The thought is to keep the races somewhat centrally located so that travel burdens are not put on certain members . Not ruling anything out at this point, just don't want knee jerk, hurry up decisions .Have to let things play out a little . There is also some thought on trying to have some "exhibition " racing at other tracks to see how they go. Just wanting to let everyone know what is going on.

Hey, sounds like a possibility. But, the place has to open, then set a schedule. lets hope it happens.
