Don't know who all is planning on running at the Rt 66 Classic event on August 17. I assume it is still a go. I got warned on a few safety items, as I think everybody there did. I got picked on for my roll bar padding which is the exact same as Tom Hoffman's, he didn't. Looking at the NHRA rule book, you have to have the SFI 45.1 padding (the hard plastic like stuff) anywhere a drivers helmet can touch the roll bar in a 9.99 or quicker car. The tech guy said I should have it (only running 12's !!). I have noticed a car now and then in Victory with no roll bar padding at all. Not fun going to Joliet and being told to fix something or don't run. He did let me run. I know most Victory cars will pass with flying colors. Great track to run on, but check the NHRA rule book if in doubt.

Polara-bear, I think a Chevy would solve all your safety problems!

The Joliet track tech officials remind me too much of my job as a truckdriver and the D.O.T. inspectors. Even if you have everything perfect they will still find something wrong. My racing hobby does not need that kind of stress involved. Last time I was there they said my window net was too loose. The window net was fine, but I adjusted it anyways while they watched. Safety is a good thing, but nitpicking is not.

Jerry, you could be right, but if I was going back to GM it would have to be a Tin Indian, no plug or plug wire problems on them. Indians love blue gill, too. Mama Polara Bear has been working on her Mopar. Dennis, what you wrote didn't come through.

Dennis guess you wrote while I was, sorry. Sometimes they just might want to make you not come back. As for my car, everything the tech guy picked on has been corrected, so they will have to find something new. Jerry is ready for them !!

Dick, I pretty much have to be there, since they chose my Dodge, (the slowest car there last year out of both Super Stock groups), picture to advertise the Rt 66 Classic event on facebook, right next to the pin up girl. Susan plans on being there, with the camper truck, not a car. Unless Victory decides not to do it, we'll be there.

Greetings , we are planning on being there @ Rt. 66, we've been down the dirt road with the tech people there years ago, make sure your "kill switch" works . We have the SFI 45.1 roll bar padding , had it for years after tech @ Union grove gave us breeze about the " pool noodle " padding. I have one 36" stick of the 45.1 padding if anyone needs one. We hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July holiday. We hope all young people have good understanding what this Holiday represents. One last note regarding the Holiday, shake the hand of a Vet should you meet one and say thanks. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be able to celebrate this historic holiday. Everybody be safe, Julie, Pete and Bill

Kathi and I are planning on being there also. Wasn't aware of a lot of issues with tech. heard of a couple things, didn't realize there was a lot of nit-picking. For the most part, I usually hear how our group has there stuff together ( from Tech guys ), and them the comment " But You guys have been thru this a couple thousand times anyway ".... OUCH! See everyone at Cedar Falls, Bringing the Tartar Sauce for a little Blue Gill as an appetizer.

Rumble Fishy--Tartar sauce is great on barracuda, also! And Old Blue prefers Sweet Baby Ray's sauce on Polara bear meat!

Don't forget Jerry, you have to soak Polara Bear meat in Coca Cola for 2 hours to give it that extra sweet flavor before you cook it. Will you be able to make RT 66 ? Got 2 Fords that want to kick Mopar tail so far.

We'll have to bring the Tartar Sauce to Smear on the Blue Gill at Cedar Falls, Just remembered that Jerry is celebrating their 50th anniversary that week end, and again, pass our deepest heart felt condolences to Susan .

Hey Dick I'd like to commit for Rt. 66 but IDK what's gonna happen with my Mom, planning on traveling home from Mayo on Friday and if she's doing well I'll hit the road for Rt.66.
